Drive your Toyota 4Runner onto level ground where you will have room on both sides to work.

Open the 4Runner's hood and disconnect the vehicle's battery. This will ensure that no moving parts are powered.

    • 3

Raise the left front side of the 4Runner with the jack and put a jack stand under the support point and lower the vehicle onto the stand. Do this to the right front side also so that the front of the vehicle is completely off of the ground.

Place the jack under the front of the engine block and raise the engine up slightly. This will take pressure off of the motor mounts.

    • 5

Use pliers, ratchet and corresponding sockets to remove the bolts and mounts from the fixture that holds them. Motor mounts are rubber fitting on the bottom corners of the engine on both sides.

Place the new motor mount and securing bolt into the fixture. Tighten the bolt with pliers, ratchet and corresponding socket. Do this to both sides of the engine.
